Industry Canada announced that it had completed the auction of a handful of residual spectrum licenses in the 2300 MHz and 3500 MHz bands, according to TR Daily. Industry Canada reported that 10 licenses had been awarded in the auction, with six of them going to BroadPoint International Telecom. The licenses were all for relatively small service areas, with the largest covering a total population of 45,928 and garnering a high bid of $137,784 from BroadPoint.
